1990 Comanche with oil in the air cleaner?

by on 2010/05/04

After a week, the air cleaner is half full of oil, and the motor is down a quart, or more. The engine is a 4.0 inline 6. Enybody have any advice on this?

Since you didn’t tell us your mileage we can only guess, but its probably either the egr is shot or the engine is plain worn out.

Sounds like Blow By to me. I am guessing that it has over 100,000 miles. More than likely it needs rings but I would take it to a mechanic and ask them to run a compression check on it and explain what it is doing to the mechanic.
